There were two pulleys held on with 6 bolts, but no big thing with teeth.

OMFG Why haven't you had any of the MofO's come help you out? Since when are crank hub bolts reverse thread... I have heard TTY but never left hand thread....

So you get the other end out of the crank yikes.

Usually I'm not so completely mechanically incompetent. Although, admittedly this is pretty f-ed up.

I'll definitely keep an eye on that thread. I could sure use some moral support from other e30 owners over beer.

          Wow.

Yes. Of course. You definitely need a vibration damper.

Leak it down in the car before you remove it to see if you bent any valves on your shifting incident. if you think it went 7.5 k it may have gone a bit over that.

Talk to your local machine shop as to how to remove it. its beyond normal DIY tools to remove half of a broken crankshaft bolt cleanly, its really really hard stuff.

With no vibration damper your crank position sensor isn't getting any signal, but from that picture you don't have a cps either...

Are you running OBD1 or OBD2? idk who in their right mind would set a limiter at or above 7500 on an S52. And if you really are missing your crank pulley you couldnt be running OBD1

And youre installing your motor mounts upside down.

                    Fair enough. Maybe I am.

Are you running OBD1 or OBD2?
I'm running OBDII, the CPS is on the back of the block. I have no idea what the limiter is set to, the only thing I've done is have the EWS deleted.

Can i assume you swapped a 318 and didnt change the coding plug? The stock limiter is 6800. Youre not revving to 7500 your tac just thinks you are.

The S52 crank i have has the toothed wheel bolted to the crank inside the block.

^Because youre running OBD2, he assumed you were running OBD1.

It's a grey market 323i. I bought an adapter from treehouse, and had to splice a wire into connector that goes to the cluster. The tach appears to work, but I don't know how accurate it is. I'll try and find out some how.

Like inside the timing chain cover or actually inside the block? I don't think I saw one when I had the pan off.
