I dont run 1/4 mile's...........just road courses.Oh trust me I have been doing research it's just that I find a lot of different ways to do it so I just asked to get more ideas I guess. I'm going to start the swap really soon so I will keep everybody updated on what I run into. So u said u did a swap around 8 months ago, have u taken ur car to the tracks yet to test the 1/4 mile?
I use my big block Chevelle
w/ 600 wheel hp to blow thru the 1/4.I love sitting down and just driving!Comment

Does anyone know....if the E36 engine mounts are just needed for S50 swaps, or do i need E36 mount arms for my M50 as well??? This is the first time I've seen it mentioned, I though I just needed the rubber mounts, cause I already have the mount arms that came on the M50.
Thanks for the help.......
OP, sry to jack your thread

Where did your M50 come from? An E34 or an E36? For the engine mounts you're going to want E28 535i mounts or AKG's poly mounts made specifically for 24v swaps.Does anyone know....if the E36 engine mounts are just needed for S50 swaps, or do i need E36 mount arms for my M50 as well??? This is the first time I've seen it mentioned, I though I just needed the rubber mounts, cause I already have the mount arms that came on the M50.

Honestly, its OBD1 so I just assumed it was from an E34. Which has lead me to other confusing questions about the oil pan.
Anyway, I guess I'll have to check the part numbers on it. Their must be a way to ID where it came from....I'm just not sure how yet.

All OBD I tells you is that it was either produced earlier than 1996 or that it was a 1996+ motor that was converted. For figuring out what it is, assuming the donor motor is complete, look for a VIN sticker on the back of the cylinder head and post the last 8 of the VIN #.Comment
