    almost done, need some help.

Where does the smaller hose go? does it connect to the crankvent on the valve cover?

And what about these two small wires? One comes from the fuse box and the other goes into the firewall on the driver side. Are the power or ground?

Mounted my M50 in my E30 today but i have a few questions. The car is a 91 318i, 93 m50tu, and i'm using the getrag240 off my m42. what trans mounts do i use? i have a new set of 318i trans mounts but the way the engine sits now, its real close to the fire wall (up agaisnt it). also i need some help with the routing of the coolant lines for the heater core.

Hope i can get this thing running soon.

use the same trans mounts that came with your m42. its just a matter of adjusting the mount on the rails provided in the chassis.

I can just barely get a finger in between my fire wall and S50 head. It's really, really close. "Fat guy in a liiiiiittle jacket..."

Yeah that's about where I have it now. Now the coolant hoses are my prob, and reaching those looks like fun.

With the intak on yea. On my NVM%0 swap I had to tighten the clamps on the heater core fro underneath, and it was a major BITCH. This last time we just pulled the mani and it was soooo much easier.

Which hoses go where? My M50 came with some sort of valve on the hose off the back of the head, it splits off to two hoses. I can get a picture if needed. But idk if i needed it. I want to get this thing wired and all the coolants hoses ran today.

E30s should have a bypass valve near the firewall for the heater core incase of overheat so the heater core doesnt explode. If I remember correctly the back of the head goes to the bypass valve then the bottom heater hose. The OBD1 spider hose goes to the top.

I believe your right the small one goes back to the connection on the cranvent.
