Bypass heater core - and a few wiring loose ends

What did you M/S50 guys do with hose routing if you bypassed your heater core? I know some people block off the rear of the head, and the front of the head behind the therm housing.

I am looking to reroute the coolant by bypassing the heater core (until I get a replacement). Do I simply connect the rear head line to the lower spider hose and still connect the line to the intake mani? Or do I do something different?

I've seen diagrams in my searches, but was unsure of what is actually necessary.

Large black (ground) cable coming from battery tray - does this go to the starter?

Anyone have pictures of their harness connections at the battery tray, I need to see where the power wires are connected.

Three eyelid ground connections on the s50 wiring harness. One goes to the starter, one to the alternator and the third to???

All stupid questions I know, so TIA!

Block off the heater core? You never want to stop the flow of coolant

    Please leave feedback below, thanks

I laughed, and had to read this twice. Did you read my first post? My heater core is leaking and I cant replace it yet. People DO bypass the heater core and I am asking how they have done so.

I realize it may not be for everyone, but you'll note I asked the people that have.

            Can you help me?

So if you know they have done it, can't you search? There is more than 10 threads about this filled with the answers you are looking for.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Yes, there is. I'm not sure I completely understand what I have read so far.

Also consider, living full time in Satan's favorite vacation destination, you probably will never need the heater.

                    lol - you know Jericho!

I'm going to go ahead and swap out the heater valve as this is where it appears to be leaking from. If my core looks bad I'll swap that too. Seems silly to spend as much money as I have and skimp on something that can overheat the head.

Now, at any point was someone actually going to answer a question of mine or is the down escalator from the soap box busted? :hitler:

                    I kid :D

you mentioned blocking off back of the block, your motor will explode if you you stop coolant from flowing through...

i have changed 3 heater cores...man up and change it, get a used 1, and find a hour of free time...

ask ejnight, i swapped his out for him. its not to terribly difficult

It won't explode Matt - but yes I opted to fix the system. Man up? :giggle:
