Just a little update for everyone: My 2.5" vibrant ultra quiet resonator and muffler have "broken in" and they sound louder. Im 100% happy with the exhaust sound right now; idle is low and quiet, wot sounds like raging butt sechs between two lions.

How are you getting the xr-1 to fit in the exhaust tunnel? That thing is so wide and it causes it to hang low and scrape everywhere.

Had my exhaust done about two weeks ago now. S52 > OBD2 headers > modified downpipes > Y > single 3" > 3" Magnaflow metallic cat > 3" Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator > Vibrant Flat Black Muffler 3" in/dual out.

Initial impression was that it was plenty loud for my tastes. Sound is awesome. No rasp, just a nice deep tone at idle and low revs, a scream at high revs, and a nice burble when letting off the gas and coasting. Almost more of a V8 sound than inline 6.

Had the car on track at VIR for 3 days days this weekend and it sounded incredible ripping around at full throttle. Only issue is that I burned off all of the flat black paint on the muffler. It turned into white, cocaine looking powder. (No I didn't try to snort it.) I kinda wish I had gone with the polished stainless for that reason.

I did a few laps with a GoPro camera on the rear bumper. Hopefully I got a good sound recording. I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, but I'll post it up if it recorded reasonably well. Unfortunately I forgot to ask a friend to record a flyby from track side. I'll be back there in two weeks and I'll get one then.

hmm. Im in the process of my swap, and ive got ebay headers. I dont think ill be running a cat. So the vibrant ultra quiet resi to the streetpower muffler would be a decent tone? i dont really want anything too loud. But Id like something that has a nice tone.
