Just wanted to update the thread here on the hoses. I got mine done at the local NAPA for just a hair under 90 bucks. Had to have ends brazed on to make the hose sizes the same. Tried to do the splicer route, but ended up with hose sizes that were NOT compatible with the crimps (thin wall hose, non-standard sizes)
Vacuuming it down now, after a very easy install. will see how well it cools with the new compressor.
new update today:
Car runs great with cold AC. Idle is steady at 600rpm with ac on, and NO wire hookup (slight hesitation when coming to a stop, but no stall, and smooths out instantly). Total charge needed, just over 1.5 cans R134a.
Update 4/7/12:
Went ahead and fixed the bouncing idle with AC on. The slight hesitation from above did not get better, and started to nearly stall the car out when starting up.
Simple fix, take the wire from Pin 64 on the DME (other end goes to Pin 6 on X20) and connect it to C136 inside your glove box (at least on mine) this is a violet/black wire that ORIGINALLY went to your DME for the M20 you have replaced.
I did not fish the wire out of the main harness at the DME, I instead ran a jumper to X20 at the swap harness. I dont like digging into a harness and possibly getting the wrong damn wire.
During test drive, the car still has a slight idle bounce when coasting, but is smoothing out with miles driven (adapting) Idle is 650 RPM AC on or off, easy peasy, lemon squeezy, took about 20 minutes to hook up.Last edited by scottinAZ; 04-07-2012, 10:56 AM.Leave a comment:

Hooked up the A/C this weekend, no problems at all with idle by wiring it this way.Leave a comment:

Has anyone had success swapping compressor clutches for the purpose of changing belt style?
For instance installing a ribbed belt clutch onto an originally v-belt style r12 compressor?Leave a comment:

Ive read the threads but there isnt a straight to the point explantion. So using doc block requires no modifications to the e30 lines?? As long as your not using a seiko seiki?
Reason im saying is im willing to purchase the min amount and resell if people are interested. I want my ac working because florida is too damn hot.Last edited by BDSax; 09-04-2011, 07:00 AM.Leave a comment:

Not sure yet, broke the condensor trying to get the old lines disconnected. New condensor is on the way. Maybe will have a chance to get it hooked up this weekendLeave a comment:

Finally got some A/C lines and will start on hooking this up soon. I don't drive the car to work anymore cause its been so hot lately. I'll update if I have issues with idle bump.Leave a comment:

FYI:
Docblocks will no longer take orders on the individual blocks, they are out of stock.
Minimum order is 25 so this is up to distributors.
Damn i really need these things and i can't find them anywhere else.Leave a comment:

So.... How's the AC with a lightweight flywheel? Idle bump or no, I don't see this going well.
I am guessing lots of stalling?Leave a comment:

I believe its PIN 64 but lots of other folks were saying that there was no change in idle.I just plugged it in. No changes needed. As for the idle bump, I can tell you that the info is on this forum because I found it, but I can't recall the location.
My recommendation is to run a wire out to the harness connector, though, as this avoids the risk of hacking up the harness.Leave a comment:
