Yep, again, I'm driving around, cruising town, and my idle will be perfect for probably like 10-30 seconds and then die, then pick up terribly.

Maybe it's the electric fan kicking on? I remember in my m42 powered car, sometimes if the high speed came on, it would draw a lot of amperage and the car kinda stuttered.

            hmm

back to vacuum leak or water temp sensor- m20 has idle jump with water temp sensor issues

LTW fly should have no effect on idle, at least it did not on the last few swaps I did

OEM non-chipped m50 obd1 red label vanos ecu for 2500cc will run a 3200cc S52 perfect and idle perfect :)
            OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

Just out wondering, do you know what that rattling noise is in the background? My M50NV has recently started rattling at an idle (idles really low at 500rpm so I'm not sure if that's just causing some extra shaking). My first thought was it's the flywheel chattering but I only recently started noticing the rattle a couple months ago and have had the car for almost two years.

do u feel vibration through the firewall in your car? does the car have a dual mass flywheel in it? or a single

Don't really feel the vibration through the firewall. It's more of an audible rattling that sounds like it's coming from near the engine bay. The car was swapped before I bought it but I believe it has the stock dual mass flywheel (i'll have to check with the previous owner). That's part of the reason I'm guessing it's not flywheel chatter.

The rattling seems to go away if I raise the rpms a bit so I'm wondering if it's just a result of my engine idling so low at 500rpm.

if the rattle is from middle and goes away with rpm's up or car driving, or changes when u press the clutch it may likely be the flywheel

if its a dual mass you will be able to feel it compared to single, the dual mass is slowly dying on my m20- sometimes rattles, sometimes does not.

Still have this problem :/. I can't seem to pinpoint ANY vacuum leaks. I found one from an injector O-ring but it didn't make too big a difference. My car is still a bit shaky. But my throttle response is amazing, which is what kind of confuses me. No hesitation at all and simply smooth.

I couldn't narrow down any vac leaks but I figured out that if I disconnected my TPS my idle greatly improves. But I can smell the richness my engine becomes. Any ideas?

The stomp test isnt gonna work with the TPS disconnected. How do you think the ECU knows your stomping on the gas pedal? :D
