    weird idle

so i got my exhaust done on my car, 86 325 with m50 non vanos, plugged the o2 sensor before the cat, thats how it had it on the e36.
check engine like went away, but still idles weird, doesnt keep a steady idle, sounds like a carb. v8 idle.
any ideas of what it is? ill try to get a video on here tomorrow.

vac leak, slack on the throttle cable, sticky ICV,

Many reasons, just got to start eliminating them from cheapest to most expensive.

to see if the icv is still good, when it was off i was able to move the little valve in there with my finger. is it supposed to be like that?

my idle before i gave the throttle slack was bad before gave it more slack and it control, it was pretty bad, would idle high and go down and up, now its more subtle. you think it could still be the same thing?

Last I heard was that you drove the 92 e36 donor car and everything was fine including the automatic transmission. Thats what you said. So something has to do with the way you install it now for it not to idle right.

not to positive on bmw but Ive fixed Hondas with a hunting idle with bad coolant temp sensors, they tell the computer its -40* out and screws with the air fuel mixture until it warms up and the cars will bounce from 500 to around 1200 rpm, let the car sit and get ice cold over night, then plug in a scan tool, pull up a data stream and start the car, compare coolant temp sensor reading with actual temperature outside when you first start the car. if it says something way outta the park, change it. again, havent encountered this on a bmw yet, just a few b series hondas. hope it helps
