    Tranny/DS/Clutch/FW/starter/TOB combos

Hey guys, i know that it has been covered a few times, in the wiki and other places about what combos work but there is no detailed (that i can find) on which setup all flows together, and more so, what people prefer.

I am about done cleaning up the bay on my swap car and have a few options and combos that i am looking for some insight on what people think/prefer the setup to include.

I have a G240 from the car, obviously that has the starter, flywheel, clutch etc with it. In addition, i have a ZF and a Z3 coupe (i think) driveshaft. The motor going in is a nicely prepped M50 with a ferrera valve train and some other goodies.

    So, my question,

Run G240, and if i do, what clutch/fw/starter/ds/tob
    Run ZF, and which clutch/fw/starter/ds/tob

And as a bonus, what diff people find most useable with either setup

Sorry if this has been covered, but i would like to hear from the experts, and the not so experts on what their thoughts on this are.

I greatly appreciate any and all help with this matter,
    all my best,
    Mike

Sweet man I love reading about peoples swaps. I'm kinda sad my project is done. All your questions kinda have a lot to do with your driving style and type of roads. I'm mostly in traffic and only lookin for quickness so I have a 320 zf trans 328 drive shaft with a 4:10 diff for loads of torque not top speed. I never see the highway unless I'm Rollin to road atl. The 2:93 I've heard is better for top speed. Hope you get a sweet setup and another 24v e30 is hittin the road nicely. Phil.

+1 this setup, I hear the 3.73 is perfect for this setup for the track/all-around but 2.93 if it will see DD duties instead
With that said, I have a 4.10LSD... can't wait to rip third :)

OK, so I have an M50tu, and want to use it with my G260 from my 87 325iC. I also have an S50 clutch/flywheel/pp combo included with the M50tu.

                A) can I use the S50 clutch/flywheel/PP combo with the above setup?

                B) Will my M20 starter work? (ie does the starter match the trans?)

                Almost there...

lolcantturn, how are you using M50 starter with an M20 setup?
Everyone else posting is using an M20, I haven't seen anything in the 9k guides I've read about this.

cool good to know. There must be a reason the M20 flywheel is more commonly used though right?
