    wiring help.

I know this is going to be a redundant question that many have asked but i seem to not be able to find definitive answers for my question. I have an s52 going in an e30, and a wiring harness that came from a 1995 325is with a fuel rail that came from a 1994. My question is; do i need to be looking at m50 to e30 wiring diagrams because of my harness, or should i be looking at how to wire an s52 to an e30, or the s52 to m50 to e30. I need some help badly. want to make sure i get this right. thanks for the help.

The S52 will not the know the difference. You want to wire your car like an M50 going into an E30.
    Past Car : E30 S50 6 Speed 5 Lug 3.73
Current : Z3 S50 OBD2 (Smog Legal) 6 Speed BBS RN Dual Ear Diff

ok thanks. i talked with one of my friends and he explained the whole thing to me. I've been going over the ETM's countless times to make sure i get it right the first time. just picked up a c101 plug too. didnt realize i needed it off my m20 before i sold it so i had to get another one. took me a while to find it.

        Hey Swift,

Im in the middle of the same swap (but mine is a coupe). do you make a cross reference of any kind? would you mind sharing it? i just need some sort of foundation to build upon.

        thanks.

be careful with online charts & guides. many of them have errors and omissions.

Most definitely. Even with a chart from an online source you've
gotta use the ETM's specific to your car and make sure your pins are correct.

most are missing that pin 20 is sometimes +12v and sometimes ground, and sometimes nothing. Then there is the connection to switched +12v on the E36 harness side to keep the diagnostics port functioning. or that later E30s need switched +12v from the C101 connector for ABS.

                    I know for sure that I don't have a pin 20. I just figured
out last night that my e30 chassis side pins are completley different than my male c101 plug, engine side. I've have to go back and re-do all of the pins and basically skip the new male c101 plug and make sure my e30 chassis side
plug pins are matched up correctly to the m50 engine/(new c101 plug) harness side. It's been a huge headache, and it's been put on hold for a few days due to work. :(
