m50 hard hot start + power loss

So after running the car hard at autoX, the car becomes hard to start. its as if the fuel pressure has to rebuild. it usually takes 2-3 long cranks before starting

Once it gets going, throttle lags if i step on it and the car just doesnt seem to be pulling as hard as it should.

after some research, it sound like it could be:

    check valve in fuel pump
    pressure regulator

Does this make sense? is it possible the 318 fuel pump isnt enough for the m50?

    thanks

    any suggestions?

I replaced the FPR tonight, however cannot test the car (since its not street legal) So i will find out this weekend at Calabogie if it changed anything.

If you could it would be interested to meter the HFM and see if its getting signal to the dme. You can do all of this from the x6000 connector.
