Spal puller fitment with m42 radiator any solutions?

Ok so originally I wired up the stock aux fan and it finally blew up. I purchased the Bimmerworld e36 spal fan delete kit. It comes with a 16 inch puller fan. However it does not fit it hits the water pump... I tried removing radiator and water pump but then I can't get water pump back in way too tight. Should I send it back and get a pusher fan? or should I try to rewire it and switch the blades around? Any ideas or help of any kind is appreciated.

I had to run a pusher setup with mine as I had no room at all for a puller.

I used a 12 inch puller with my m42 rad. Temps always stayed right to the left of the 1/2 mark.

Wierd, my 16" generic puller fit just barely. My new spal 16" fits also but while i changed the radiator i shaved down the waterpump nipple

Mine only fit if I installed the radiator+fan together, i.e. I couldn't squeeze the fan in if the radiator was in place. Did not need to pull the WP though. The fitment is tight, but the waterpump protrusion (not sure what that thing is, or why it's threaded... I had a new WP and I actually left the plastic protective cap on it) clears just above and to the driver's side of the center (thickest) portion of the puller. Make sure the radiator is seated all the way down on its "feet." Also, I am not running the gasket thing.

Yes you need to find a slim fan but there are 16" fans that fit. Another option is to cut off the nub for the mechanical fan on the water pump. If you're not running A/C on the front side a pusher fan is a much smarter solution (and easier).

Yea I think I can make it work by moving the fan all the way to one side and just keep the gasket off. I installed a new lower temp 180 thermostat and a new water pump. How's the S50 swap going? I installed the m42 that I bought from you last weekend haven't turned it over yet but I think I'm gonna today. Did you move out west?

Wouldnt having a radiator thats bigger than an M42 be more efficent??
I'm actually jealous, i wanted the M42 rad cause of the side tank, but didnt get it cause I hear its not such a good idea for autoX.

24V M50, M3 cams, Turner Tune, full exhaust, ect....

Yes for cooling capacity the regular 325 radiator is def bigger than the m42. I was just commenting in response to the post above by imajackasswithnolife...

Swap is done, I'm in Portland, and the car is en route. Finishing the exhaust out here at a muffler shop ($60/hr ftw). Drove it a little with open headers, and that was scary. No issues yet though, got the coolant well bled and everything appears perfect.
