My idle increases as the car warms up? What to change?

So my car was idling at 1200rpm, I got a new ICV and now it's controllable and the car is finally feeling normal.

Problem is, it will idle at 750 or probably closer to 700 when I first fire it up cold, and then the idle will increase to about 850-900 when warm. Seems as though something is reversed. I'd like to idle at 750, but with that set while warm, the car is shaky upon cold start because the idle is way too low. Anyone else ever encounter this issue? ECU temp sender? I have no CELs and everything else seems normal.

    edit: OBD1 ecu from '95 m3

do you have a multimeter? a continuity test could see if the ICV PWM outputs somehow got switched around. your harness was unfortunately fairly hacked up when I got it. :(

otherwise, there are other possible causes for this. in fact, if the ICV wasn't working at all, and the throttle had just been cracked open enough to get it to idle cold, that's exactly what would happen.

I will pick up a multimeter asap and check that out. what is "PWM"? I got your PM, can you explain in painful detail how to check it out?

I do believe that the ICV is working because it's brand new, and it does seem to function... just in the wrong direction.

I have to look at the ETM but I can tell you which pins to test with a multimeter.

I need to get it smoke or vacuum tested for leaks.
