How much would an M50 swap cost?

As the title states, how much would it be to swap the car? How much did you guys pay for any swap in general? I am interested in M50 or an S5x swap. Any info is helpful

I have about $1200.00 into my m50 swap. But I did get $400 back from selling my m20 and the getrag 250 that came with my m50.. I did all the work myself though... hope that helps...

Depends on how many new parts you buy, how long you want the swap to take, and how much beer you drink.

a do it yourself tossed together m50 can be done for less then $1500.

a do it yourself fresh, clean, and reliable M50 swap can be done for $3000

a do it yourself clean and reliable S50/S52 can be done for $5-6000

ill4noreason did his for free....he bought a e30 that was swapped, took the drivetrain, parrted the rest and actually MADE money. now that is the way to go

so about 1500ish should be good, then you can sell your m20 and old trans, hopefully trade someone diffs and come in closer to 1100 when all said and done.

best thing to do is find a friend to help you out that has already done it!

right now parts only, Im about 2800 into it

1100 motor, harness and accessories
100 clutch and flywheel
125 radiator
55 DME
135 oil pan, dipstick
200 trans, shifter and driveshaft
250 misc core charges (refundable)
6-800 new maintenance parts (belts, hoses, center support, shift carrier rebuild,water pump, all new gaskets, shit like that)

Keep in mind that I am also doing a 5 speed refit at the same time, so about 4-500 of the cost can be saved (easy) by already having the transmission of your choice, along with the appropriate driveshaft

It can most likely be done a LOT cheaper, but I dont want to have to go back into this thing for a while and redo something I could have done correctly the first time
in the end, I should have a reliable DD
