    Thats only with the getrag 260 mate not the 240. But appreciate the help.

      A shifter wouldn't be hard to get hold of anyway. I've managed to develop a friendship with my local wrecker and let me borrow parts to make sure they fit that's always been helpful when doing engine swaps.
      Have you found a motor yet? Japanese imports tend to be in the best condition. And try not to go obd2 those motors are restricted due to emissions that happened in Germany at the time of the release. And also may I add later motors have plastic thermostat housings. Those tend to crack so either replace with the earlier cast housings. So there is a bit of background info for you.

        Would i be able to use an e36 flywheel and clutch with the getrag 240 on the m50? might be able to get for free.

          yes, just use the original throwout bearing and pilot bearing. Im using an E36 clutch with my Getrag 260 with the above setup no issues
