    Block Identification?

I attained a bare block and crank combo recently that I know is a 24v but I cant figure out what type it is. This is the casting on the side

I was told it might be a s50 block. The stamping in the picture is 1748933

    any clues?

And the crank sensor is located on the front of the engine by the harmonic balancer.

I think the casting for the s5X and m5X are the same so your best bet is to get some dial calipers and measure the bore.

is that 84 the bore? sounds about right? If thats the case its just a normal M50 block.

There's a tag on the drivers side midway of the block horizontally at the bottom near the engine mount. Should be a flat semi smooth surface. If it reads 2.5 its a m50, 3.0 s50, 3.2 s52.
