    e34 pan too low

I know taller engine mounts will work here, but the question is clearance on the hood side. What are the tallest engine mounts that I can fit in? its kind of stupid how low this pan sits, and how our pans are right in front of the front "axle"

Yep E28 M5, installed "wrong". Can lift the header side with a washer or two.
Can't go much higher because of the trans bell and headers will probably push up against the body.
The point closest to the hood is the very front of the cam cover. You can test by putting putty on it and closing the hood, then measure putty thickness.

Newb derek! I never liked the idea of angling the motor to much because of the thrust angle under load.

That's why they make skidplates son! lol

I used the green mounts with about 1/4in of shimming and it still cleared my hood and strut bar

Dry sump is not really a street solution; whatever expense it may be-

VAC does not release specs on running time of these things for street use do they?

Also, where are you going to mount the dry sump oil tank on a street car? Passenger footwell area is great if you don't have a dash/HVAC etc

local custom dry sump added to VAC full race S54:

passenger footwell has a box that the tank lives in

                      note AN oil feed/output

I hear so many stories about people's oil pans sitting too low, what mounts are you guys running?

I have IE yellow poly e28 mounts and no clearance issues with h&r sports. I have heard of them melting on the exhaust side though

Yes, I'm going to shield and possibly make an air duct to the header side mount, because it gets shitloads of heat and any mount will wear prematurely.
And I don't think the pan is that low. I think it's about level with an IS lip. Danger depends on the drop of course.

We use factory e46 mounts and the pan will only be about half an inch lower than stock (m20).
