Seems risky getting something that is not rebuildable. Are the HKS ones rebuildable?

HKS units are very similar to the rotrex units and are not rebuildable

I'm piecing together my setup with a vortech v1. I have everything except the piping and I'm at $1200 Piping will only be a nother $300 max. I only want to make 280 whp (for now)

exactly, I find it stupid to pay almost 5,000 dollars for a kit when you can piece it together for cheaper. I understand all the R&D that goes into it, but still.

Most US C38 based kits aren't making 450+ whp...

Plenty of stage 3+ Vortech kits have made close to 500whp, and some have even broken into 500s.

Supadave, your car must be a monster, but the motor has WAY more power potential since it's a built Euro s50b32. The average AA c38 kit on a US s50/2 will make 430-440whp at best.

If you use the new massive Vortech YSI blower, a built US s50/2 with the right headers and cams will make atleast 520whp on pump gas.

Chris from RMS is making 546whp on his built s54 on only 14psi with the YSI, and Osh's massive s54 supercharger headers. They will be retuning for 21 psi in about a month and are expecting 640+ whp on 91 octane!!!!

My car has a US S52, The car i posted pictures of isnt mine. My car is still under construction, waiting for my intake to come back from the UK. Trevor from the Wizard of Nos is building A nitrous system that can flow over 300HP.

That with my C38 and 80MM pulley should put me close to 900HP+. :-D

Do you have a fully built head with oversized valves, custom cams, and custom headers?

Sounds like you're planning to make 600hp from the blower alone, which no one has done with a US motor. I'm interested to see your results...

stage II head from Vac motorsports, Schrick cams 286* 272*, I dont think she'll make 600hp from the blower, I think it will be more around 500ish. I plan to make up the rest with nitrous.

Nitrous and superchargers compliment extremely well together. A supercharger can raise the air temp to 160 F. The cooling properties of nitrous are so much more effective and beneficial in a forced induction engine.

In fact, a forced induction engine works so well with nitrous that the increase in power can be as much as 50% more than the power increase from injecting the same amount of nitrous into a normally aspirated engine.

                      Build thread coming soon

I totally agree about nitrous, but I hope you have forged, internals, and ARP hardware before you decide on spraying....
