So I recently bought this motor from a friend in hopes of putting it in my e30 that I daily drive. I'm selling the e30 and no longer need this motor, so I want to test the waters. The motor was professionally built by a race shop in Santa Ana, along with 3 other identical versions. It's basically a high compression s52, with a slightly larger crankshaft and pistons.
This was initially a Non-Vanos motor, with a slightly worked head and some reground mild cams. It dyno'd at 238whp/226wtq on 91 octane in NON-VANOS form. The motor was in my buddy's e36 for less than 1,500 miles, and then he pulled it to swap in an OBD1 s52 turbo set-up. Since I've purchased the motor, I've swapped in a rebuilt m50 Vanos head with fresh gaskets, and factory spec head studs, a good condition Vanos set-up, swapped over to OBD1 m50 electronics, etc.
With the cams, headers and a custom tune, this motor should make between 250-260 whp, and anywhere between 235-250 wtq. Great for anyone that tracks their e30/e36, or simply wants a potent NA set-up!

11:1 compression, overbored, forged CP pistons (have to check the bore size)
s50 rods
Freshly rebuilt m50 Vanos head with valve job, new exhaust valves and fresh valvestem seals
1,500 mile rod bearings and piston rings for new parts
Brand new MLS head gasket
New intake manifold gaskets, header gaskets, timing cover gasket, oil pan gasket, camshaft and crank seals, rear main seal
24 lb. Bosch injectors
Comes with s50 camshafts (no extra charge) OR 256/256 high lift custom cams done by Cam Doctor in Orange County CA. Cams have 4 track days on them, made 256 whp on an s50 with a MOTEC set-up, on 91 octane. Custom Cams = $750 option
Turner Motorsport stainless steel, tubular shorty headers $450 option (retail is $749.99 on sale)
Motor can come with either a chip tuned for an OBD1 s52, OR a Miller Performance W.A.R chip, with a base tune for an OBD1 S52 with 24# injectors and 3.5" MAF for an extra $350 option
