I ordered the KAMotors intake for a couple reasons, I don't care about any performance gains on my stock m20 and only wanted the intake for the sound (because racecar?). Price, it's cheap so who cares. Your box looks fantastic, had I known it existed when I ordered last week I may have been interested but we essentially have two tiers of upgrades here. Nothing wrong with that, those who are cheap bastards like me can get the KAmotors unit and be totally satisfied, or those who want that extra 1-2hp can go the extra mile for your unit, both look to do their job well enough considering the stock airbox does a good job on its own.

    lol.

but really, i just got in the maf kit with the box and it sounds and looks unreal.

    thumbs up for the box.

this being said, one of my friends has the KA one. i personally think it looks funny (like a buff arm sticking out of the motor) but also sounds good and does the job. i just don't want anything carbon fiber on my car.

KAMOTORS I respect the fact that you took the time to find and test a nice product that you could offer to your customers, that being said thanks to all of you that like our product and keep buying it and to those who don't like our product to each their own.

This. And it's awesome that the maker of one of them was the one to point it out.

I will stand behind any product Castro puts out. Call me a nutswinger all you want, but the man makes good product, and it's made locally.

Just to be clear, the same duct can be run on our airbox.

looks like the OEM m20 airbox duct no?

I am pretty sure you are right here. They will both suck near ambient temp air, it's really down to whether you've got a 3" or 3.5" intake and whether you'd rather have an OEM or CF/aftermarket look. If you don't mind deleting your ABS, the larger cone on Castro's will also likely be a small benefit depending on how much power you are making.

Really though, you are not going to be winning or losing any races based on the choice you make here (especially if you are not running S5x+ power levels)--so just choose the one you feel like getting.

Chris (giantkeeper) posted factual information that he went out of his own way to find. Until kamotors chimed in, no one bothered posting any meaningful information, other then personal preference on looks.

I've done lots of IAT testing and without proper ducting Your IAT's will rise. It took speeds of 60+mph to get my IATS down to under 100 degrees without the duct installed. With the duct my kit will breath ambient air at all speeds. It takes nothing more than a sensor in the airbox to prove this.
Just to be clear, the same duct can be run on our airbox.
