    Wiring question

For those that are making your own adapters, where are you buying the wire? I've been looking for different colored wire and can't find anything sold by the foot. I would rather not buy 10 spools of 100' just to use a couple feet from each. I am also trying to avoid using only 1 or 2 colors (would make troubleshooting in the future near impossible).

Assuming that youre using the harness from an e36, simply go to a pick n pull and get the receiving end of the X20(?) connector and splice that to your c101 connector from the e30 engine harness. No need to get new wiring.

It is an S54. I have the new connector and pins for the S54 side, but I need enough wiring to get to the E30 plug. I picked up a harness from a junked E30. Any issues with used wire?

No issues. The e30-era wire is much better than most of the stuff in new cars. Copper strands and good insulation.
