There wont be any high or low spots on it if it was turned on a lathe so you dont have to worry. The outer circumference of the flywheel should be machined lower than the inner contact patch. Im sure itll work if your run it like that, but it might be more predisposed to slipping like a worn clutch later down the line. That and your clutch pedal might sit a bit lower. If it were me, Id take it to a shop and get it properly turned.Yeah I am pretty sure it was done on a lathe. I took it to a proper automotive machine shop to get it balanced and they said the same thing in regards to it being turned on a lathe. At first he was worried about it, then grabbed some tools to check how flat it was to insure there were no high/low spots. He was really surprised at how flat and straight it was.
Then he proceeded to balance it.Leave a comment:

goog question. It looks like it was turned on a brake lathe and not a actuall machine that does flywheels.Leave a comment:

Is there any particular reason why the machine shop did not machine the step in the flywheel? The friction area is suppose to be more raised then the pressure plate mounting area as I recall. I only ask because it might cause your clutch to slip or wear prematurely due to inadequate pressure.Leave a comment:

Looking great!
I've never hear anything about this temp sensor in the head! Wut?Leave a comment:

So I bought a 325i radiator, expansion tank, gauge cluster and glove box from a fellow R3vlimiter. I am just waiting on the parts to arrive. Once they do I can finish this bastard up, and go get some exhaust fabbed up.Leave a comment:

Alrights, here is a short video of me starting it up and lightly blipping the throttle. I realized I did not cap the vacuum line on the throttle-body, and I know that I have not hooked up the wire that goes to the back of the gauge cluster on the green plug. So It likely isn't running perfect.
Here are some engine bay pics. I have lots of tidying up to do, but I had to prove that the damn motor would start before spending more time on fit and finish.
