        Lol the flaming doesn't bother me at all lol. I pretty much flamed myself by posting this thread. Lol n I was dipping my feet for a solid 3hrs before this happened. All I really needed was about 20 minutes to get used to it. It was just a little mistake.

          Heh, it took me two whole days to get comfortable with the power and the zf box.

          Side note, is it really that difficult to type "and"?

          I only bring that up because typing like you speak impacts your writing skills.

                Believe it or not, there is a "proper" way to handle a shifter in order to avoid the problem you've just had. I teach it to my students:



                Takes a little getting used to, but it feels very natural after a few days practice.

                      All the valves are bent, 3 spark plugs are smashed, 3 cylinders have 0 compression, 1 has 90, then the other 2 have 50..... I heard that only the zf310 transmission from the 95 m3's will allow you to go in any gear at any rpm, as for the zf320 will not. Has anybody else heard that the 320's have this upgrade?

                        All transmissions will allow the driver to money shift. Transmission was not the problem. lots of money shifted 96-99 M3's lol

                        is the bottom end still alive?


                        if the cams are still ok and the pistons are not destroyed/rod bearings still ok - just install any good #400 casting head and you are golden. you can even instal a NON-VANOS head for double valve springs if you like - it will directly take the vanos. I did this on my S52 (use m50 nonvanos head and keep vanos and s52 cams+s52 everything)

                          I had my swap car for 4 years, was my first stick shift car, daily drove and raced it constantly, but never had this happen. I don't know how people do this so often with the ZF, it's not the transmission's fault!

                          I love the feel of the ZF320, unlike the Getrag 260, which I hate!

                            I think that's BS.

                            99% of moneyshifts are caused by poor technique combined with sloppy motor and transmission mounts.
