Searched but couldn't find; sheet metal carrier?

Finishing up with my m50 swap, the carrier is pushed the 12 degrees or so, how would I go about bending this? Would I have to just bend the whole carrier? I can't see just bending the selector rod doing anything since the shifter is rubbing on the passenger side of the hole.

at first I cut and drilled holes on the end where the carrier bolted to the gearbox. It was sloppy so I removed it and attached the carrier directly to the tunnel on the car. I hear that you should have solid motor mounts if you do it because it pops out of gear from the movement. Also if you go that route you need to plug the bolt holes on the gearbox or it leaks fluid. I love the way it feels now with a x5 shifter, zhp weighted knob, and carrier bolted to the car.

I would just upgrade to the later style shift carrier. It's a better design anyway.

I've never seen the sheetmetal carrier used. If you've got the little "ears" on the top-aft end of the transmission, convert to the later style carrier.

Not all transmissions are able to use the later style carrier.

You will have to twist the selector rod and you will also have to do some spacing to get the carrier to sit flater and inline.

You could also just cut the carrier up and just bolt it into the transmission tunnel.

I'm fairly sure there is an M3 part that will adapt your old style trans to be able to use the later style carrier.
