Yes I will be using the starter off my m20 and putting it on the m50... the m50 starter red power wire is cut on the m50 harness, so looks like I will have to run a new wire thru the harness anyway.

The typical way to do it is E36 harness alt to starter pwr cable and stock E30 starter to batt terminal cable.
