    S50 with G260 and 4.10lsd

I currently run my setup with a 3.73 lsd and it is fun but I am now in possession of a 4.10lsd that I took on trade for some parts. I have checked it out and it is in great shape ( short of the fin I just broke off the cover). I am wondering if it would make the car any faster in the real world to swap in the 4.10 for my 3.73. I know that the 4.10 made my last M20 e30 a rocket. Has anyone run this setup?

I have it in my e30 with an m50 and I find myself shifting quite a bit too often, I would stay with the 3.73, that's what I'm going with this week so I'll let you know how I like (or dislike) the difference.

I am just thinking that the car is mostly a toy anyway so rpm on the freeway is no issue. It revs to 7200 rpm so I should still be able to hit 60 in second and just get into fourth in the quarter. I am wondering if it would make it quicker to 60 and then to 90. I know that in some cases the gearing does not match the power band and I am not sure about 4.10.

if the car isnt regularly street driven, then go for it with the 4.10. Mine was much quicker taking off with the 4.10 than the 3.73. M50 and G260 setup in mine.

Even if I revved out the m50 to 7k, I'm still about 5 mph shy of 60 in second. just some food for thought.

I think I would just hit 60 in second as I also have 245/40/17 star spec rears that make the gears taller.

I had a m50 g260 4.10 loved every minute of it. How are you able to rev to 72??

S50 with TMS doesn't bounce till past 7200.

I would say if it were an M50 a 4.10 would be fun. For an S50, don't do it.

The S50 is nice and torquey. I feel like it will actually lose performance with too short of a gear. Keep the 3.73.

isn't a G260 and the 4.10 similar in gearing to a ZF and 3.25 that lots of people use?

1st gear will certainly not be usless with a 7200rpm redline..

That makes no sense, the g260 and g240 basically have the same gearing.
