the system itself, per what the shop owner/mechanic said, has been checked/bled multiple times.
the e46 m3 slave didnt work, hes measuring the length of the cylinder as well as some other measurements and seeing where the issue may be.
im thinking the PN from the OP is the correct slave and there is some underlying issueFOR SALE: diamantschwarz metallic 1991 m52 e30

e46m slave is WRONG as the e46m has a 6 speed Getrag. e36m gearbox in usa is a 5 speed ZF unit.
both 328 and m3 e36 slave are perfect for that trans and clutch; if the clutch is a new OEM e36m unit and the flywheel also, perhaps change the master cylinder?
OEM new parts very rarely have flaws, I suppose it is possible though
it is possible that the e30 master cylinder is worn out? I always change them in pairs- for some reason new slaves like to make my older masters die (happened to me in a few cars before.OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

if the clutch is grabbing just off the floor, it may not be releasing the pressure plate enough, thereby giving the noise. What flywheel combo are you using, remember that the ZF originally used a dual mass unit. if you are using a single mass fly, you most likely will need the 323 euro throwout that gives a bit more distance between the fork and release face, this would compensate for the difference between flywheel and clutch stack heights.
My friction point is about inch and a half-two inches off the floor, and this is with a dual mass flywheel, stock throwout, e46 328i slave and transmission, and stock E30 master. I havent tried adjusting the eccentric at the top of the pedal yet, this may also be an option for you as well.

i believe its a single mass unit, but ill have to double check. been a year since i bought most of the parts for this thing
if it its a single, where do you pick up the 323 euro throw out bearing? part number?
edit: found part/part number on pelican parts.
if a single mass is used with the ZF trans and an e36 slave, the euro 323 TOB is the only solution/way to go with this setup?Last edited by BADCLOWN; 12-12-2011, 11:15 AM.FOR SALE: diamantschwarz metallic 1991 m52 e30

i appreciate the suggestions, but if true, it seems the easiest solution is to swap out for the 323 euro TOB.
i just need to know for certain that with the single mass, ZF trans, and e36 slave that i need to run this euro 323 and that its the only option for this specific setupFOR SALE: diamantschwarz metallic 1991 m52 e30

well, a 323 throwout bearing is probably the solution for the issue your having......that's why I asked you last week which one you were running.
My setup is the following
- S50 with ZF 5 speed
- my original e30 clutch master cylinder
- an e36 328i slave cylinder
- regular m20 throwout bearing that came is used with the Getrag
- original e30 clutch fork
- my original single mass e30 flywheel shaved down to about 10 pounds
- clutchmasters clutch and pressure plate. (I was running a stock M20 clutch but the pressure plate came apart so it got upgraded)
My grab point is a bit lower than it was stock but is certainly not on the floor. I have a clutch stop but yet to install.
my opinion is to change your throwout bearing and leave everything else as is.'87 325ic, powered by S50.

my apologies for missing the post/question. the thread moved pretty quick during an afternoon last week and i must have missed it or skipped over it in my catching up.
