Thanks for all the input guys. I'll try the dye and get some more pictures up soon.
20-50 works just fine on the DOHC engines.

BUT, it looks like you have a rear main seal leak or transmission input shaft seal leak - pretty normal. output shaft and selector rod should be changed while you are at it.

ps leak and oil pan, probably front timing cover.

best idea is to plan to tear it all apart and replace as much as you can at one hit - leaks take a long time to chase down.

Ones under the pan could also originate from dipstick o-ring or the oil filter housing gasket. Ask me how I know... They are easy and cheap fixes though.

dgrease and dye is a good idea for me too.. my car had those exact same drips. I changed the oil pan gasket (when i welded in a oil baffle) and it got rid of most of them. I notice oil would "slide" back as i drive wind just blows it onto the transmission.

Def seems like that rear seal on yours needs to be addressed for daddy - My solution, paint garage floor. Bare concrete is a nightmare. I used Armorpoxy on mine years ago. Its **** awesome. Purple power every now and then clean as a whistle.

Make sure the pcv vacuum lines on the valve cover are not cracked. If the vacuum is low, then the crankcase can build up more pressure than normal, and leak from new places.

Hmm, so if it is the rear main seal I'm pretty much screwed huh? I don't have the tools or the "know how" to drop the transmission and redo it. How much labor is involved? (time wise) I assume the parts are pretty cheap, I'm more worried about the labor if I have to take it to a mechanic. (probably Ryan G)

My current 'permanent solution' for oil leaks is a HUGE cardboard box cut up and set flat on the ground that basically covers the entire underside of my car.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

i thought only the head gaskets were known to fail. you sure it isn't residual?
