    Is this S52 obd1?

The guy I'm buying it from took it out of a 92' 325i so it's possible the original owner had installed it obd2.

I'll update with more pics when i get them if this doesn't suffice.

If it is OEM then it is OBD2.

All s52 were OBD2 from the factory unless they had been converted.

Well the intake manifold is from an S50, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's obd1.

I see a secondary air valve so my guess is that It's obd 2.

Which is odd because there is no secondary air pump? How many O2 sensors does it have hooked up?

Looks OBD1 to me judging by the MAF it's running.

My thoughts, and there is no running losses valve in sight and the egr on the exhaust mani is not hooked up.

$20 says it has a crank sensor on the front and the rear one is not hooked up.
