85 Manual to auto M50 wiring help.

I have a 1985 325e and im trying to wire up my harness to a 1994 M50 auto motor. My dilemma is I am confused why I have 2 plugs from the M50 harness.

Am I going to just splice them both, and delete what I don't use?

Also, I am going to be using the sensor cables from the old M20? I am somewhat lost at that step... How am I going to hook up the VANOS unit? I am lost here... This is not my first rodeo, I have no problem building this motor, and just about anything else in this car, but wiring is NOT my specialty, lol.

My E30 has the square plug currently:

    Thanks.

The reason you have two plugs is that one is for the auto trans computer.

Basically one will have wires that run mostly to a trans computer on the other end of the harness.

Easy way to deal with all this shit is to cut off the black computer's connector. (it's a long connector, not those little round ones) Then follow the wires back through the harness.

You should be left with 4 wires that don't just go straight to the round plug.

THey are ABS, traction control, stability control and a ground. Obviously the transcomputer don;t need grounding if it's not there.

The others can be cut out.

I'm not one to kill people, but we JUST had a thread on this a few days ago.

If you're trying to make a M50 mate up to an E30 auto trans...then I do kill people. That is a waste of fucking time.
