    M50 gear changing rpms question.

    Hello to everyone reading! :D
I have a practical question which I m sure has been answered here somewhere,
but I just couldnt find the answer after searching various keywords.

    The car is a M50B25 powered E30.
The gearbox is a standard E36 325i one.
Whats the optimal rpms for upshifts when drag racing? :?:
I m pretty sure its not the rev limiter,is it?

Get a dyno done or Find a dyno graph for an m50 and keep it in the power band.

          shift 200-300rpms before redline.
          AWD > RWD

            Fixed.

And double clutch it like you are supposed to.

Not a lunatic, that is just where my engine makes the most power.

I usually just wait till about 9k rpms and just YANK the shifter into the next gear without using the clutch. Takes a while to get to 9k though with the limiter at 7k, so you gotta be really fast.

                    Run a 3.46. Start there.

You can do some trap time calculations.
