could you make a NV camshaft sensor work on

a vanos engine. i know the fittings on the wire end are different but if i spliced them up would it work with the engine?

That is not a sensor you want to splice wires on.

Go to the junkyard and get the right one.

no; one is VR and the other is Hall.
