Quick n00b question about the throttle cable

so ive been doing research and i read that the e36 (328is in my case) throttle cable would work, can anyone confirm that?? since i've got a donor already. and if not, then it needs to be the e34 m50 cable, right? Anybody know that part number for it?

+1. the engine side of the stock cable uses a different mounting setup than the M50. E34 cable is a direct fit for the M/S5x series engines.

How does it look like shit? Idk if the m20 cable is different but I have the m42 cable and it looks good and works like a champ
