Trying to get an idea of who's actually done the 3.0L stroker on an M50. I've seen a few threads (yes, I searched) with people talking about the stroker, but haven't seen any build threads. Thanks in advance.
What're your thoughts on it?
Would you do it again?
Did you replace your main bearing bolts?
What head gasket did you use?
What DME are you using and with what aftermarket chip/tune?
Thats me.
I like it. I completely rebuilt the motor. New rods, low compression pistons. I'm sure Ill like it a lot more when I install a turbo.
Replaced main bearing bolts and rod bolts, arp is the way to go.
MLS headgasket.
I'm running a standalone engine management. MS 2 extra to be more specific. I wanted to be able to tune it for NA for now then tune for forced induction when I add a turbo.
I've read between 9.5 and 10.5. Not very helpful I know... let us know what you find... my bottom end is assembled just need to get around to doing the rest... nv m50 block with m54 internals and s52 head/cams
I read through your whole thread over the last few days. Nicely done!
For now, I'm doing a full rebuild, with M54B30 internals and stock everything else. I'll see where that gets me and go from there. I've got a set of Schrick cams that I'll eventually install, but I want to get it running well first, before I go tinkering too much.
I'm in the middle of sourcing parts for this as well, what is the end CR ratio reusing the m54 internals? I'm hearing a lot of contradicting numbers.
I've seen the same contradicting numbers, but it's kind of hard to give a definitive answer as everyone's build is slightly different. I haven't run the numbers on my build yet, so I can't give you a good answer on what I'm expecting for CR.
