E30 M3 wire Covers, on S/M50 UPDATE

i probably used almost 2 dozen, and just crammed down every wire as tight as i could (without damaging them, of course). Just go slowly and carefully, you can get them all to fit, and not a single one of mine is ran outside the covers.

my second question, Im using an adapter that NANDO made [ looks good will show pictures]

Whats the best way to fit the adapter? since it would never fit under/inside the cover...
[i know lots of you dont have adapters, but for now i will have to use it...]

I'd go different from the zip ties and use electrical tape. easier to compact stuff and looks cleaner if you have to take the cover off. as for the adapter, place the engine side in the holder(doesn't fit perfect, hole is too big) and just try to make it look as pretty as possible. not much else can be done with an adapter.

if you look at the cover, it was obviously meant to be used with a few zip ties. the whole idea of it is you can easily work on and repair the harness. electrical tape is uneccesary.

you could put the C101/adapter where the diagnostics port goes, and put the diagnostics port inside the cover. don't know if it will reach but it's an idea.

That is THE WORST idea. It will be next to impossible to stretch the tape tight enough to hold the wiring as well as zip ties. Not to mention a total mess, if you ever want or need to take it off. All you need to remove zip ties are cable snips.

granted thats how mine is right now and works perfectly and no trying to pry the cover back on each time. Why would you ever need to get back to your wiring harness anyways? yes it may be a bit "unnecessary" but cleans up the look a lot. just to double check I'm talking about wrapping the harness itself not the cover, which should be held on by the 3 screws made for it. I can snap a quick picture if you guys want. Nando also has a good idea about the adapter. pretty much what I was saying but will probably keep more of the wires out of the way.

I don't see how it cleans up the look if it's covered by the plastic housing?

wrapping it will make it a pain in the ass to work on. I've actually got a few things I want to go in and modify..

I had to get into my harness after it was already all bundled up in zip ties because we fried a wire and had to replace it. You never know what might happen or what you might have to change, so why not make it easy on yourself? I ALWAYS try to think of what will make it easier next time for me or for the next guy.

Yeah, but that wasn't "you know who's" fault, we did that shit. We never even use that adapter, Andrew took one look at it and ripped it apart.
