What does it mean when I start up my car and there is a little bit of white smoke coming out of the exhaust, and I just put a whole new exhaust system on it yesterday. Is it something serious? Or just caused by water?

Headgasket failure usually involves some combination of the following, besides burning coolant:

 Overheating
Oil and coolant mixing - milkshake
Compression drop in affected cylinder(s), making for a loss of power

Upon startup water condensation will cause some white smoke. Once the car / exhaust is nice and hot it should be gone.Comment
