    m50 limp mode

Car is an 86, motor from 93 325iS 413 dme, damn thing keeps going into limp mode after i hit about 65-70 mph. Wont rev past 3500rpm. I can drive it around town for days and it does just fine until i hit the highway and then kicks into limp mode. No cel, vss is hooked up. I am using the e36 harnes with what i think is the gregslow harness adapter. Engine harness is out of an auto e36, i didnt cut anything out of the engine harness cause im not sure what to do with the two wies connecting the trans and engine harness. Halp please

I think i have vss hooked up correctly. I have the wire plugged in to the green thing on the rear of the cluster behind the speedo. Plugged in to one of the terminals farthest to driver side. Is this right?

I hooked it up to one of those yesterday, had it in different ones before. We will see.

I ran into this. Turned out my VANOS was timed incorrectly. After I took it all apart and re-set it, problem was resolved. If I babied it, would rev ok but if I gave it anything more at all, it would just die at 3500.

Also I hooked up my VSS signal using the C104, its kind of between the radio and glove box.
