    I'm calculated that for the price of an oil change including oil (Around ~$30 here, usually less), I'd rather just pay someone to do it.

    Granted, I've always smashed an oil pan or gone through a motor swap before I've ever actually needed to change my oil hehe.

    Right, because the fact that I would prefer to be able to easily understand how my harness is wired at any given point, rather than re-pinning it to something non-standard means that I don't like to do work on cars. I've only done three engine swaps, a shit ton more engine replacements and other work, repainted a car, built a couple race cars, and, you know, a few other things that aren't on this list. (I'll grant you the hands dirty part - I buy nitrile gloves by the thousands.)

    At best, re-pinning a harness leaves you with a harness that only you can understand easily. The nice thing about adapters is that it will always be easy to figure out what wire does what, and an adapted harness is much less likely to have had someone "thin out" the wires he didn't think were necessary. This is my frustration with my current S50B32 harness - i have not only been forced to check every single wire color against the ETM diagrams, but I've also been forced to find wires that were cut back and replace them. If the PO had just made an adapter, I wouldn't have to deal with this crap. Instead, he got creative and the harness will never be the same.

    Had an adapter. Went to a converted harness. Much cleaner.

    For me, an adapter is VASTLY preferable. To the point where I may replace the harness on my S50B32 because I don't really like what was done to it by the PO.

    Ok, call me an idiot if this is really stupid but....

    Couldn't you just trace the wires off of the old and new engines and match things up that way?

    hard wire it by cutting plug and adapting one side , if you cannot get it perfect the first time don't try. send it out to be done for you professionally

    adapter = GARBAGE.

    +1 on cutting on the harness and splicing in the correct connector. Do it properly the first time.

    Why not just cut the x20 off your engine harness and replace it with c101? Adapters are big and bulky.
