Having an S50 swap done, couple of questions...

    Thanks guys, sorry I neglected the thread, the shop has done numerous 24v swaps into E30's, they know what they are doing. They go between the E21 and 944 booster for these swaps, they happened to have a 944 booster so thats what they are using. They said there has been no difference between the 2 in performance, etc.

    I will go with some fresh factory rotors and nicer pads with some new fluid when I get the car. I'll also need to freshen up the suspension when funds permit over the next couple months but thats all stuff I can do over the weekends, I've done everything under the sun to E36 M3's over the years except a clutch job or replacing a motor/tranny.

      Are you worried about longevity of that g240 behind that s50?

        iirc 240's are good up to about 350 ft/lb

          I'm aware the 240 may have a shorter life, I'll drive it until it has issues and then swap a g260 into it or go with an E36 tranny and different LSD. I'll be keeping my eyes open for a deal either way over the next months and throw it in the garage until I need it.

          About as many people swapped running a 240 have no troubles as people that have troubles, seem to be in how its driven and/or luck of the draw on your car. I'll replace the diff and tranny fluid with fresh synthetic when I get it and are updating the brakes and brake fluid.

            Its getting a 6 cylinder clutch and single mass flywheel FYI according to the shop, it should be done middle to end of next week and I'll post impressions when I get it.
