Still driving on the old clutch, it's staying together, no signs of problems other than occasional slipping, but it takes quite a bit of load to slip. I had to work for the first part of Thanksgiving break, didn't swap the clutch, and decided to wait til the beginning to X-mas. I'll update this when I install the parts.

I was just going to PM you and see how it went.

Have you even decided which clutch you're going with?

Yea, IE w/sprung center (consider alum. flywheel)

Update: I went with the Sachs race pressure plate and clutch disk (still sprung). Pedal is stiff, and the release point is very low in the pedal travel, but I've only driven it about 10 miles so I'll update you guys after some more time in the car. No more clutch slip though, it leaves 2 streaks of rubber when you put the power down :D

It should be pretty good. Its a sprung, full-face clutch disk, rated at 360 ft/lbs. So it should be good when I eventually go S/C.

what are the specs on the s50 you're running brew? My project is in full swing, I'll be installing a bimmerworld ltw flywheel, e36 m3 pressure plate, e34 m5 sprung hub clutch. Have you driven your 3.0 318is yet? I should be driving mine by march I hope!

Well, I've just made yet another change of plans, and I think I'll be selling all the non-vanos crap. Two short blocks, two cylinder heads, one with custom s50-spec cams, harness, chipped dme, and MAF. Going to just go for S50 top-end.
