water pump for DD stk metal / stewart ?

It's time to gather cooling system parts for M50 > 89 I .I'm using stk radiator with lower temp thermo switch/thermostat, elec pusher fan.
I searched but couldn't tell if the stewart pump is really better for longevity or added cooling performance as they advertise. It is nice but a bit spendy.or just stick with graf m/metal impeller. thoughts on silicon radiator hoses ?
    Thanks

I have a Stewart pump installed, but I don't know if a 1500 mile motor over 3 years is any testament to longevity.

    No complaints so far.

go with stock. I have nearly 15k on my swap with factory hoses and graf waterpump. no overheating issues with full AC and the AZ summer.

which radiator are you running? i'm ready to upgrade my water pump, don't think my stock water pump is going to cut it this summer.

I'm running an M42 rad, 80*C thermostat, stock everything, and a 14" Ireland Engineering fan. No overheating issues when it was 89* here in Jersey, haven't tested it in the true 95*+ summer though. Suspect there will be no problems though.

there's nothing like a dry 120º day in traffic when your car is heat soaked to begin with.

                  <----- needs more cooling.

Stewarts have a lifetime warranty and are supposedly a higher volume pump than stock.

I have the Stewart in my M52tub28 DD. Works great with my under drive pulleys.

As for the stock pump. Get the Composite Impeller...It's better than the metal impeller. Either way it should be replaced every 60k because the bearings will wear out.

I am also on my second EMP WP...the inner seals failed and slowly leaked coolant on my drive belts. Took a while to find the leak but when I did, it was a free replacement and they shipped it next day air. It arrived in 2 days. Stunning Customer Service.

Get the Stewart and don't look back. I have no idea why there is so much aversion to the Stewart WP in this thread. The build quality is amazing as the previous posts (and others) have noted, as is the no-questions lifetime warranty. It's worth every penny.

Running Stewart in mine as well. Mine is paired with all upgraded cooling components though.

Silicon hoses, I always thought they were more for looks than anything else.

plastic OEM BMW for DD. replace reasonably often with other cooling items (hoses, thermostat)

if car is track only or boosted up or you enjoy blowing money then the stewart is great.

I have had it and the plastic and metal oem, plastic OEM is the most engineered impeller and cannot corrode.
