    S50 Swap Wiring Questions

So I have done the work, looked up the diagrams, and created my own wiring chart, I'm not here to ask you to wire my car for me. However, with wiring being something of such importance it's something I only want to do once and do right. I've got what I think is the correct wiring diagram for my 1995 S50 into my 1990 325i, but I'd love to have a few sets of experienced eyes look over it before I start cutting and splicing wires.

Here's what I've got, I started with an S50 into E30 M3 guide and modified / tweaked it to my exact application. Please look over what I've got and let me know if you see any issues, problems, concerns etc..

    Again, 1995 S50B30US into 1990 325i Coupe

    Thank In Advance!

wtf is everyone getting pin 17 from. THAT IS AN E36 TX LINE. IT DOES NOTHING IN AN E30. Pin 16 on 99% of E30s goes NOWEHERE

What is "TX?" On my E30, pin 16 is a white/black wire that I would assume goes somewhere. Other than that issue, does the rest look good?

My 12/93 e34 manual harness => 1991 325i cross wiring was the same except I have:

        X20 pin 3 - c101 pin 20 (abs)
Pin 22 - pin 6 (power dist to 02 relay)

Those might be unique to my combination, but everying works perfectly, including diagnostics, o2 heater, abs, etc.
        Current:
        1991 325i Sedan - S50 Swap
        1988 325i Cabrio

        Past:
        1991 M3
        1991 318is
        1985 325e

I believe pin 16 on E30s goes to the airbag computer, maybe ABS. not something anyone ever uses.

you don't need to connect pin 17 to anything, as long as you power the OBD port you can connect diagnostics there.

Alright, so I'll just leave pin 17-16 disconnected.

Would the point of pin 22 to pin 6 just to be to provide 12V to the o2 relay?

            As far as ABS, I was just planning on doing this;
On the chassis side of C101 (big plug that connects the engine harness to the chassis), pin 20 (red/yellow wire) is ABS. I ran a 14 gauge wire between pin 20 on the engine side of my connector to the Engine Control Module Relay in the E36 engine bay wiring harness. I tapped into the red/white wire (Relay port 87a). This gives power during start/run.

Make sure you wire your C103 in.

It's a late model, there is no C103.

Anyone else have any insight on the pin 22-6?? I have pin 22 as the reverse switch (which I'm going to be cutting to splice into the E30 body harness).

reverse lights on e30 are purely in the body harness. 2 wires go down through shifter hole to switch on passenger side of tranny. Whether you use a zf or stock getrag the switch is in same place and you don't have to mess with wiring in any way. If your car was an auto let us know and we can help u splice into the neutral safety switch wiring (still in shifter area, not under hood)

Car is an auto, I forgot to take that into account with my wiring. I would very much appreciate some insight into wiring the reverse switch for my auto body harness.

I would very much appreciate some advice on the reverse switch wiring on my auto car. Also, if anyone else has any more feedback on my wiring before I start cutting and splicing stuff, I'd appreciate it.

it makes no difference to the engine.

a search should find you info on 5-speed wiring.
