Use the 413 DME. Red label if you can get it.

You can leave the automatic harness connected or open the harness up and trace back each wire that connects to the automatic stuff and carefully remove them 1 by 1. Its not very hard to do.

Ditch the e34 harness. The routing is all messed up and its not long enough to route and look good.

      Get a normal e36 M50 harness.

Your harness will work, but like jordan said it is to short to mount your ecu in the stock e30 location. The plug that connects the harness to the fuse box is also on the wrong side so you will need to run wires across. If none of this bothers you, you should be fine. I think the harnesses off of the manuel cars are wired for automatics but the wires do not have connectors on them and are tucked into the harness case. I might be wrong, thats just what I have gathered from looking at my harness. Good Luck

you dont want the 413 for that engine... if its a 91, its non vanos... i belive thats the 403, dont quote me on that, but find out for sure which ecu goes to the non-vanos motor. I'd just stick to the harness you have, no point in wasting money. If you have wiring ability, you can cut the auto connector off very carefully. you have to trace everywire to and from the dme connector... it'll take you a few hours for sure.

Good catch Addis. DME will depend on Vanos.

I've got an ETK if you need any diagrams, I can print them out and get them to you somewhere in Chattanooga. If you need any help when it comes to the swap let me know.

You'll need a bosch 402 dme, there are a couple on www.car-part.com in the $200 range.
