Can someone spot check these mounts for the newb?

Hey all, just managed to throw on these akg mounts and wanted to check that i didn't do anything ass backwards. Though it's a rather straightforward installation I would always rather be safe than sorry. Thanks for the assistance guys

This...Losely mount them to the engine mounts. When you're dropping the motor in any amount of flexibility in getting things to line up correctly is appreciated.

Also, when you put the steering rack back in, fight the urge to change the direction of the bolts. Seen a lot of people put them in backwards thinking if the nut falls off, then the bolt will still be there.

            STOP!! WAIT!! :D
The engine mounts are positioned incorrectly.
They should be rotated 180 degrees so that the shorter side is along the frame rail.

What is the issue with doing it this way?

Hi I just installed these yesterday the locating dowel goes in the slot of the motor mount the threaded stud goes in the hole towards the center of the engine compartment. hang them loosely on the eng. mount arms. set one side. loosen the engine mount arm from the block on the other side and lower into position. I tried to sit them with mount arms tight on block and ended up with gap between arm and AKG mount on one side. you need loosey goosey to settle in then tighten. Ask me how I know....

                  Hello,

Both mounts in the MM5030 set are the same (they are not driver or passenger side specific), and from your photo there is no issue with the mount itself.

Due to the angle of the mounts, when installing it works best to loosen one engine bracket, and fit the motor mount stud through before lowering the motor all the way and tightening. This will ensure the angle and fitment is correct.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

                  Regards,
                  Lisa

                    I'm using AKG mounts .
They are 180 degrees out in the OP's picture.

Don't worry about the orientation if they can spin, just place them loosely in the outside holes. They need to be loose to fit to the engine and you'll swear you did something wrong, but the engine WILL fit.
