Sounds good. I will setup another appointment at the location you recommended. I appreciate your input.Leave a comment:

My ref told me that , once you go. It creates no red flag in the system.. I would recommend taking it to pierce college, they didn't even ask about any paper work... I just told them what car it was out of , and they took it from there... Pretty Simple.Leave a comment:

Did they tell you how they would like proof that the motor is a s50?Leave a comment:

barring that, if the vin tag has been removed, they can identify by the pad on the drivers side under the starter (would be stamped 3.2 for the displacement). best option would be to truly do it correct, as in OBDII, or to sell the car out of state.
you have been flagged by the Ref, and now things are in the system, dont see another way around itLeave a comment:

I failed my BAR test
So this morning I went to Goldenwest College to take my BAR test. I have a S52 that's converted to a OBD1. I told them that the motor was from a 1995 M3 (S50). They asked me for paper work on the motor which I don't have since I purchased it from a private seller. They then started to do the visual inspection. About 45 min later, they told me that it didn't pass. They told me that I needed my motor ID'd by a licensed shop with the year and application. Also, it didn't pass because I plugged up the throttle body coolant hose so I could run a temperature sensor to the head in replacement of the throttle body coolant hose.
I'm thinking about re-installing the throttle body coolant hoses and hiding the temperature sensor for temporary just so it passes the visual on that. As for getting the motor ID'd, I don't know how to go about that since it's a S52 that's been converted to OBD1. Any suggestions about what I can do to get my car to pass? I appreciate the help.Last edited by IRUNEDM; 06-28-2012, 09:00 AM.Tags: None
