#MM5030L from akg
and i grabbed one of these steering flex couplers #FX3050if anyone has any reveiws on these id like to hear! ive heard good things about akg, this is my first time dealing with them, cant wait to get my stuff in so i can put my car back on the road, i was doint an e36 rack swap and decided to replace the flex coupler and saw that i broke one of my m5 mounts that has less then 15 hrs on it and its a brand new OE BMW mount from the dealer, i snapped the stud off of it. :( this car is more of a toy than a car though, i use it to have fun, not to get anywhere really.

I broke two sets of m5 mounts. I have a AKG ploy swap mounts in both my swap cars. I also have the ploy flex coupler. Let me know how you like those.
i didnt want poly in my steering shaft, i was sketched out it might crack and break or something so i went solid aluminum, and since i had already broke the m5 mounts i decided aluminum is the best for the amount of hooning/ drifting the car sees. are you happy with the poly thus far? did you notice a big difference on the steering?

why didnt you just delete the steering guibo and bolt the 2 halves of the linkage directly together?
The U-joints become out of phase, and the rack will bind. The AKG coupler works great, I have the 75D poly one in my car with no P.S. and it makes a huge difference in steering effort/response compared to the stock rubber disk. Though, now all of the slop is in the linkage itself...
I have delrin motor and trans mounts in my car and it's not too bad but I'll be switching back to rubber. If those are too soft I'll go to poly. The aluminum mounts are going to transmit 98% of the vibration through everything in the car. I'd say that by comparison the delrin ones I have do about 85%. Like I said, they're not too bad but I have no need in my daily that only sees track days a few times a year.
I hate modded emtree, I hate modded cawrz, I hate jdm, I hate swag, I hate stanceyolokids, I hate bags (on cars), I hate stuff that is slowz, I hate tires.
I live across the street from my shop, and i have an s10 jimmy with an audio system and ice cold air that i drive around for errands, my e30 is litterally used how most people would use a dirtbike or an atv, i take it out and around to have fun for short periods of time and then it goes back to sitting

If you're tearing through mounts, perhaps your motor may be improperly mounted? Is the failure occurring on the driver's or passenger side?
its my driver side mount that i broke.

I have akg solid aluminum motor and transmission mounts on my euro s50'd e30 and love them. Solid steering coupler as well. Eliminates dead play in the steering and gives a better road feel.

I have the solid mounts on my euro S50. I have previously run the 'green e28 M5' mounts.
Compared to the green polygon shaped e28 M5 mounts they sit the motor about 10mm lower and 6-7mm further back towards the firewall. This is something to bear in mind should have your exhaust system fabricated with one set of mounts & then switch to another... exhaust may need tweaking.
I am going to reinforce my front subframe because solid mounts concern me re vibration transfer. That said, they don't feel all that bad. Car is not a daily, but as a comparison my old M20 on solid plastic AKG mounts had a lot more vibration.
Only reason I am running solid motor mounts is because I also run the AKG motorsport shifter. unless you have solid mounts the shifter moves around a lot.
For a street car with a 'regular' shifter I wouldn't run these solid mounts. Rubber mounts exist for a reason :)
