    Oil blowing onto block

After a half hour of driveing my car blows oil onto the block just above the pan I replaced the gasket with a decent ammount of permitex super black let sit overnight last night my car was leaking on the block above the pan on the drivers side but really high up the block so I'm not sure if it's the oil pan seal or not I have an obd1 m50 venos

Having a hard time visualizing what you're talking about.

Do you have a leak at the back of your engine that runs down the block onto the oil pan?

If this is the case check your valve cover to be sure the half moons that seal the cam access in the back of the head are seated correctly.

If its leaking at the front of the block then check the oil filter housing.

sorry, I could barely read it without punctuation.

if it's leaking on the block, above the pan, I'm not sure what would bring you to the conclusion that it's the pan gasket. gravity tends to pull down, not up. there are a bunch of places to check for a leak - vanos line and cam position sensor come to my mind.

It's leaking around where my driverside motor mount is but it's wet a decent way up my block

Before I changed the gasket it was soaked all over my pan blowing on my exhaust and smoking a ton now it's just the drivers side and I don't think getting on my exhaust it smokes while I'm stopped

Update on my issue, it is leaking from somewhere on the top middle of my block on the drivers side. Could it be a sensor?

Sounds to me like oil filter housing gasket. Also check your vanos line.

Plus one for the VANOS line. I changed my friend's camshaft sensor and ended up loosening it by accident. Car was pissing oil everywhere, eventually I figured out that it was leaking from there.

It doesn't seem wet near my filter housing, but also it's kinda in a shitty spot to eyeball. would the venos line or oil filter housing gasket cause it to leak at the middle of my block? I might just replace both incase but I am wondering if if could be anything else near the middle of the block

lots of things in that area, vanos line, oil pressure sensor, oil filter housing, all can cause a wet spot in the area you are describing.

You're gonna have to get dirty and pull some stuff out of the way to properly diagnose the issue. But most likely the VANOS oil hose or oil filter housing gasket is toast.

It could be the plugs on the filter housing or the filter housing itself.

I Drove the car yesterday to make it leak so that I could findwhere it's coming out of. it started leaking then just stopped? But still leaks after driving a long distance but will stop leaking after 5 min, it's wierd but I'm trying to narrow down wat I should start looking for. I would think if the filter housing was leaking it woulld be all the time that it leaks correct? So I'm thinking maybe vanos line? Because vanos is not engaged at idle?
