Not Yet Another C101 to X20 Wiring Diagram... Anyone Care to Double Check?

So I am at that point in my swap where I am looking at the bloody ETMs, and I have gone through and found all, if not most, C101 connectors and X20 connectors.

    Now for some swap information:
    Body is a 1991 318iS M42
Harness is a E34 M50TU25 - Not sure of year so I chose 1994 on the ETM, pins should be the same, colours probably not.
    The swap is a 1997 M52B28 into my 1991 318iS, OBD1 conversion.

And finally here is my .jpeg of the excel spreadsheet connecting the 'like' pins.

So I have gone through this multiple times and checked a lot online to make sure I was certain of my connections but I had two questions, clearly marked in the .jpeg, but here they are in writing...

    1) C101 Pin 11 goes to X20 Pin 19, or Pin 7? I have on my other more detail specific spreadsheet that Pin 7 is SI Reset and Pin 19 is Service Reminder, but they both have a question mark on my detailed outline... So I am really unaware about this pin.

    2) C101 Pin 16 goes to X20 Pin 17? Pin 17 I really couldn't find a good diagram for, what I got from the ETM is it goes to Data Link Connector X6002 Pin 20 which is Terminal Number TXD and Terminal Description Transmit. This leads me to believe that it transmits Diagnostic Information, correct?

Another question I had was with the oil level, do I just not worry about those, they seem somewhat important, but I guess the Oil Pressure Switch should cover it.

Any help on those two questions would be great! Also a good once over on the other connections from some experienced minds would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Brandon

everything looks fine, and looking over my charts again IIRC, and from what i wrote down, you dont need those connections your asking about. i dont have them hooked up at all and i have zero issues.

I do believe 11 and 16 are not necessary or optional, I would like to have the diagnostics available if ever needed though. :???:

The only problem is they are the only ones I am confused about. I will do more research after work tonight. ;)

Mine is hooked up just like what you have listed. c101 was for a 1991 318i and x20 was for an unknown year e34. Pins are what mattered anyways. Don't know if you can see it but here's my chart. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...thkey=CJHH-5sB

The x20 pin 20 ABS should be hooked up to a E36 main relay switch +12V hook up. It's a rot/weiss wire, which from my notes looks to be the same as the c101 pin 3. Looks like the pin 3 you have is correct?

        In regards to these...

I have c101 pin 11 with x20 pin 19. No issues, may have been optional as guy above said.

I was able to see to see your pin outs and they all seem to been the same as mine! :D Good news for me, haha. I feel confident in my assessments now that those two have been addressed. If anyone else wants to chime in on ABS that would be appreciated although I think it is correct as both ETMs clearly state it is ABS in the C101 and X20.

Don't worry, when I went through my ETMs, I probably spent a few hours reviewing both. I made several pin out charts to compare amongst each other. I hate wiring so it was def nerve wracking.

leave C101 pin 16 disconnected. it's for the airbag system. X20 #17 is for the diagnostics port for the computer modules on the E36, it doesn't need to be connected since you don't have any. the DME is wired straight to the diagnostics port without going through the C101.

the chances of you finding anyone with the hardware old enough to "troubleshoot" an E30's airbag system are slim to none. I really doubt it has any significant diagnostics abilities anyway. it's not for the ABS.

              C101 #11 goes to X20 #19

So what you are saying is C101 Pin 16 is a SRS Diagnostic Connector. I have that written down in my more comprehensive spread sheet...

I have no air bags on my car anymore, so really SRS is no big deal. The light has been on since I bought the car several years ago haha.

you can get rid of the light by removing the airbag module. it's a bright orange computer near the light switch.

I will have to take that module out, haha. I have all that stuff apart already as I was modifying brake booster and putting in my new tach coding plug so it will be simple to remove at this point in time.
