    Frank.. Meet Turbo >=)

Alright after a year of snooping, and 6 months of researching m50's,52's, and 54's, i've finally started to get parts together to start on a Frankenstein Turbo Swap. (Wish me luck -__-)

The car that started my dreams:
89 325i, My 1st car for 4 years, she was an eye catcher everywhere i went (after the slammage of course)

But as you know all good things must come to an end.. I was honeslty robbed but hey what can you do when a BLONDE.. FEMALE!!! Driver randomly hits you from behind not even completely stopped..

After 2 Whole months of daily searches on CL i Found another 4dr for $1200!! threw my coils & wheels on an called it a day.... Meanwhile i've been stock piling a few things...

    Infamous Holset Hx35 Welded open
Good & Tight Turbo Mani (Thanks Otis!!)
    Tial 44mm Vband w/ a 1Bar Spring
    Innovate MTX-L
    ARP Studs w/ Cometic .140 MLS H/G
    PTE 1000cc Injectors ( =\ Low Impedance)
    And a 31x12x3 FMiC (lol)

Finally told my local junk yard to pull this M50 for me for $400 w/ Harness +403 Green label DME =)... And of course i have a M54B30 on the side another M50B25 and 1 or 2 M20's. Monday im ripping this baby open!

For those that don't know the M54B30 puts out 228hp/221tq to the crank? So taking the crank and throwing it in the M50(B30) being that the bore size is the same i'll be very close to s50 numbers.. I'd love to get my hands on a pair of s50 cams butttttt i am a college student on a budget ha!

As for tuning i think i might give the whole Miller W.A.R. Chip a go, it looks very promising.

Any1 know of a decent sounding BOV w/o burning a hole in my wallet?

So stay tuned and hopefully i can have the pro's chime in if im in need.

Well explain "stiff as hell" cause on my 1st e30 (r.i.p.) I did a 5spd swap... So I had a brand new master and slave.. compared to other cars it was "stiff as hell" lol probably more so than a new sti..

Also with this setup I should be around 400-450 rwhp not sure on tq but being that my friends s52 is 370rwhp 400tq in 4th gear (on a t28ish) I should be close to 400tq.

228 to the crank?... Mine is 228 to the wheels. Gotta say I'd be a little nervous about F/I on the aluminum block so your plan sounds good.

O.o to the wheels?... Did you dyno with a dyno that adds in the drive train lose ratio added with the chart? A s tock s50 makes roughly 212 to the wheels... O.o

Don't go cheap on the clutch! Nothing is a bigger PITA than needing to pull your tranny because a no-name clutch disc shredded or the PP broke a strap.

Clutchmaster is good and they'll know exactly what you need.

This is exaclty my problem.. with your numbers im quite sure i will exceed 435fttq..

Here is the dyno of my friends s52 w/ m50 intake mani on a T60-1 on 13psi

The T60-1 is a garret wheel smaller housing almost comparable to a 35R.. Where as i have the Hx35 which should throw up a few more under the hood @ 14.5psi.. But again idk if i'll reach those numbers so i wanted to try out the XTR Stage 4

                        Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

12 or 13 i forgot but he has a VERY conservative tune.. i'd say he could push at least 405 to the wheels on that turbo.

Yea I would agree. I'm doing a boosted S52 right now. Although I boost spike everywhere. Peak at 15 then bleed to 19.

Ok so aparantly from 1-6 (by hand) Comp is @ 90-30-90-45-0?-90....... Im pretty sure the valves are gone i got the intake/valve cover out and was about to remove the cams but i think i'll wait till tomorrow. I still have the choice on sending this motor back but for $400 i think its still a pretty good deal with harness and DME.

Should i lock the gears or leave them be being that i'm removing the 2.5 for the 3.0 crank?
