DIY Trans brace for 24V swaps

I know there have been several guys who have modified the stock one. Other guys have made their own from a cardboard mock-up. This is the DIY thread for a 24v brace. Post pictures/details/angles/measurements. Here are some pictures (not mine) to get you inspired.

This one appears to have no modifications done on the passenger side...

    These look sweet

    Modified stock (thanks Teaguer)

Here's my understanding.... If you plan on using the stock brace and modifying it here's what to do: flatten the passenger side. Mark how much material you took off. Add however much you took off to the driver side.

Feel free to add to this with your diy brace.

    Yeah, stated explicitly:
Leaving the passenger side of the stock bracket un-modified means the face of trans side mount is not parallel the stock bracket (see Image 1). The stock rubber mounts pictured seem to allow the trans to be mounted as they deflect. This will not be the case with higher durometer or solid mounts.

I made one in less than ten minutes with a hammer, a vise, and a drill. No welding needed, just a piece of metal stock around 1/4" thick.

I used to make these and sold many here back in the early days of 24V swaps.

In fact, it was the first thing I ever welded. I enjoyed it so much that I now own a welding business.

The welds look a little embarassing now but hey, you gotta start somewhere!

Or for 65 dollars you can have a brace that is stronger than modified one that will not put the trans mounts on an angle ;)

Yes, made of thicker steel that will never give you any issues. Not saying the stock ones (or modified stock ones) will but it is just a peace of mind.
